**Candidate-for-degree cards are past due for all students who complete their MSW requirements at the end of fall semester 2009. Please contact Polly Kaplan (pokaplan@fordham.edu) immediately if you are a February 2010 graduate.**

*Supporting Families through Separation or Divorce: Legal Options and Parenting Issues, October 8, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. $30 for students

Continuing Education offerings at Fordham Westchester – Check the bulletin boards for additional information of the following workshops.

*Creative Arts Therapy – Music, Dance, Poetry and Journal Therapy, October 4, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., $40 for students

*Creative Arts Therapy – Psychodrama and Art Therapy, October 18, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., $40 for students.

*Homelessness Workshop – 10-22, room 230, 12:40-1:40 p.m.

*Bereavment Work with Children Workshop- 10-10, room G11, 12:40-1:40 p.m.

*Student Congress – Fall meetings for delegates are October 6, 8 and 10 at 12:40 p.m., room 120. Congress is composed of 1 to 3 students from each integrative seminar. Please consider volunteering.

*Writing services – Writing consultant is Jacqueline McKnight (jmckcsw@aol.com). Writing handbooks ($10) and a complete list of services are available in 106A.

Important Reminders/Deadlines

*Parking permits – Secure your parking permit registration at the security desk. Upon completion, submit to security office, room 143, with car registration and student ID. Fee is $100 per year.

*Student ID cards are delivered to Henry Davis, room 106A, if you mailed your photo to Fordham. Otherwise, visit room 13G on the ground level to secure your card.

*Sacred Text for Stressful Times: Interfaith Panel & Discussion-Thursday, Oct. 8th 7-8:30 p.m. at Fordham Westchester Campus. Please RSVP at cmwest@fordham.edu.

*Fordham University Graduate Student Retreat- Oct. 9-11 (Fri. early evening to Sun. noon). Location: Fordham's Retreat House, Goshen, N.Y. Cost: $50.00. *Non-Profit /Government Careers & Internships Fair- Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, 3-6 p.m., Baruch College, 55 Lexington Ave., (24th St.), 14th Fl. Workshops at the fair are first come, first serve basis. Workshop #1: How to Apply for Federal Jobs, 3:30/5:00 p.m., Workshop #2: Careers with the State Department, 4:15/5:45 p.m. This fair is exclusively for graduate-level students & alumni. Find jobs & internships with non-profit city, state, & federal agencies. Over 30 attending agencies. No RSVP needed. Must wear business attire & submit a resume at the door for entry.

Do you have an announcement for other students; something to buy, sell, exchange; a group or activity you want to organize? Please e-mail your announcement to Henry Davis (hdavis8@fordham.edu) for posting.

*Returning Students’ Support Group – Have you been out of school for a long time, and would you like support from other students who are returning to school after a long gap since being in school? This group was suggested by a 2009 graduate, Meghan Longerhan, who is now willing to help other students organize a group. Carol Gibney, Associate Director of Campus Ministry, will also help. Please sign up on the ground-floor bulletin board if you are interested. The next meeting will be held on 10-01, starting at 12:40 p.m. in RM. 137.

*Students for Social Justice – Please sign up if you are interested in the student interest and social action group. Anne Treantafeles will help convene this group on both Thursdays and Saturdays.

RETURNING STUDENTS' FORUM -- Are you returning to school after being away from classroom education for a long time? Are you changing careers? This forum is for students wanting support and guidance in bridging years of past work experience, stay-at-home responsibilities, and/or volunteerism with current academic demands and their futures as professional social workers. Organizing meetings will be Saturday, September 26; Tuesday, September 29; and Thursday, October 1 at 12:40 p.m. in room 137. All interested, please sign up on the ground-floor bulletin board.
